We call it the Daytimers because most of the people who come are available most or some Wednesday afternoons on the first and third Wednesdays of October and November, 2016. We carry on the first and third Wednesdays of January - May, 2017.

We start in the Great Hall at noon for a lunch you bring. (It's okay if you are late, lots of people are.) Men and women are invited to attend. After lunch we talk about the various presentations, trips, DVD's, local movies travelogues we might like to see. Drumming Circle

Drumming Circle

drummingcircleA drum circle is a group of people from a few to many sitting with chairs arranged in a circle experiencing the spontaneous creation of music on a variety of drums and percussion instruments.

Drum circles have no beginning or end, no top or bottom. Such a construction places every participant on equal footing. At UCM our facilitated drum circle promotes a safe, stress free and pleasurable environment to empower participants.

DID YOU KNOW?
The quality of the music created in a drum circle has little to do with the ability or musical experience of the participants but relies more on the quality of the emerging relationships that making music  together naturally develops.

Drumming increases concentration and focus, helps develop communication skills and encourages people to listen and communicate effectively with each other.

Drumming is a great way for people to explore their creativity, which leads to greater respect and understanding of themselves and others.

A drum circle is a fun, exciting and powerful way to bring community together through rhythm.

The Drumming Circle meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm. All drummers are welcome. No previous experience is required. Come drum with us and have some fun!
