Summer Services

Summer service at Unitarian Congregation in MississaugaSummer Services

UCM is at rest during the three long weekends. With no services on holiday weekends, members and friends are given the gift of freedom, no volunteers are needed!

For the rest of the summer, we will have salon services led by the worship team. These are more intimate gatherings set up as a circle, typically without music.

Families are always welcome at UCM, the alcove will be set up as usual with activities for children. There will be no nursery.

August 20  Fiona Heath Question Box - Bring your questions! Rev. Fiona
will answer your questions of philosophy, theology
and life as provided during the service. We’ll also
break into small groups for conversation.
August 27  Fiona Heath Summer Surprise - Expect the unexpected!
Join Rev. Fiona for anunusual service - it may be
the topic, it may be the style of service.
Come and find out.

Sunday Services

Although each week may follow a different Order of Service, this is what you can expect in a typical Sunday morning occurs as below.

Sunday Service: Wonder-full!

June 18th, 2017 - 10:30 AM                   Rev. Fiona Heath

We are full of wonder for all ages Flower Ceremony.  Dress in your brightest colours and bring a flower or a few for our community bouquet.  We’ll have a rainbow of a time as we celebrate with bubbles, song and laughter and choose a flower to take home.

Stay after the service for our annual end of year bbq lunch.

Rooting for Each Other

Sunday Service: Rooting for each other

June 4th, 2017 - 10:30 AM                   Rev. Fiona Heath

Last year we adopted a new purpose: to Deepen, Nurture and Act.
It’s in our DNA.

I find our purpose, our DNA delightful.  It recalls us to our unique religious roots in scientific knowledge, while calling us to a larger purpose.

I hope all of you also feel a sense of connection to our purpose.
To deepen in spirit, to nurture community and to act for an equitable, sustainable world are three interwined ideals.

Among the Trees

Sunday Service: Among the Trees

June 11th, 2017 - 10:30 AM                   Rev. Fiona Heath

Ancient cosmologies tell of a magnificent World-Tree that grows at the centre of the universe.

From the crown to the roots, the world tree encompasses all realms of existence.
The trunk holds humankind, the branches reach high into the domain of the Gods, holding up the heavens and the stars.
The roots stretch down into the depths of the earth to wisdom, to the underworld.
