The Unitarian Congregation of Mississauga is a Safe Steps Congregation. We adopted the Safe Steps Program to prevent sexual abuse, interpersonal violence and harrassment in our congregation. We affirm our commitment to maintain an environment free of sexual abuse, interpersonal violence and harrassment. This is in keeping with our committment to maintain an environment free of discrimination and harrassment based on colour, ethnicity, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender or sexual orientation. We pledge to conduct ourselves in a manner that conveys mutual respect and consideration. We practise preventive education, careful hiring and volunteer recruitment procedures, and policies regarding the circumstances of youth and adult interaction as concrete steps to create a safe environment for all concerned. |
