Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behaviour. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behaviour, sexual health, society and culture. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives not only provides facts about anatomy and human development but also helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality. Our Whole Lives uses approaches that work. The curricula are based on the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education produced by the National Guidelines Task Force, a group of leading health, education, and sexuality professionals assembled by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS.) We include as much Canadian specific information as possible. Young Adults from the Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga invite you to our Young Adult Our Whole Lives Working Con at the Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga on November 25 - 27, 2011. We will be presenting the first of the UUA`s Young Adult OWL Curriculum. When you have attended all three weekends, you will have experienced all 14 modules of this program, facilitated by trained OWL staff. This weekend will be modelled on the typical Unitarian Universalist "working con" youth cons. So while there will be lots of OWL programming, there will also be time for networking, energy breaks, yummy shared meals, two overnights at our church, group led worship, and the ever-popular coffee house. All this and more for a suggested fee of $50 Cdn. We will be restricting attendees to the usual young adult age range of 18 to 30 years of age. Please respect this. If you fall outside of this age range, contact us for information on other age appropriate OWL programs running in the area. |
