New to UCM? Wondering how do I join?
Because Unitarian Universalism is non-creedal, there are no professions of faith or pledges required before joining. If you agree with the principles outlined in this brochure, we would gladly have you walk with us and work with us.
The minister or a member of the Membership Committee will be happy to talk with you about UCM and to have you sign our Visitor’s Book.
The "BIG" step:
Once a newcomer decides to join UCM by completing our form in our Membership Kit, they can expect to:
- Receive an official welcome letter
- Receive our church constitution
- Receive our church directory
- Have their photo taken and a short history for posting on our New Members board in the Hall
- Participate in our New Member ceremony held each January – an opportunity for a congregational welcome with refreshments
- Be invited to the New Member Wine & Cheese social with the Board members, held in March
- Be invited to various church functions, events and/or committees
Above all, this is your spiritual journey and we want you to travel at your own pace and enjoy!
Since approx. 85% of our income is derived from member pledges, a canvasser will call on you annually. All financial giving is kept confidential and is discretionary to each member’s ability to contribute.
Annual pledges can be made and/or weekly contributions are welcome at each service. All donations are tax deductible.
