The Search Within

The Search Within
Sunday, September 18th, 10:30 AM                Rev. Fiona Heath

This Sunday we explore ways that mediation and mindfulness can help people navigate relationships at home and at work. I'm also pleased to be introducing two new spiritual development programs which will begin in October.

As part of this service, I am delighted to say UCM's former minister, the Rev. Jeffrey Brown will be joining us. He and I will formally covenant as colleagues in a short ritual.

SourceFire Mabon - September 15th

Autumn trees by river -Unitarian Congregation in MississaugaOn September 15th at 7:30 in the Great Hall of UCM, Melissa Weale will be leading a celebration of Mabon with guest Kinana Issa, who is a Syrian writer and journalist.

It will be a time for gratitude for the harvest, as the day and night become equal. This is a ritual which is all about balance: life and death, light and dark, fire and ice. We will get a cultural insight into the similarities of earth based faiths between Syrian pre-war culture and North American Neo-Paganism.

At Mabon the darkness will conquer the light, leading us deeper into the waning year.
To celebrate there will be meditation, magick and a Syrian inspired activity! Come along and bring a friend if you like. Feel free to bring food to share and donations are welcome but not expected. See you at UCM and Blessed Be!

SourceFire meets in the Great Hall on the third Thursday of each month from September to June. We celebrate our UU principles and honour the earth with poetry, readings, meditation, dance, drumming, singing and ritual. Small groups take turns planning each Ritual by sharing their talents and experiences.
